Pastor Eugene E. Harris Sr.

Elder Eugene E. Harris is founder and current Senior Pastor of Rock of Praise Church of God in Christ. Pastor Harris accepted "Christ" as his personal savior in August of 1976.

Elder Harris's commitment to God and his faithful service resulted in his appointment to the "Deacon Board" of St. James Holiness, Church of God in Christ, by the late COGIC General Board member and Bishop William Morgan James; where he served the membership of St. James for 18 years as a Deacon.

Receptive to the voice of God, through prayer and guidance of the Holy Spirit, Elder Harris accepted his call to the Ministry; proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Elder Harris received his ministerial licence subscribed by the "Church of God in Christ, Inc." under the "Jurisdictional Bishop" William M. James, in November of 1996. Additional training lead to the successful completion of the "William M. James Ministerial Institute" of the Church of God in Christ.

While maintaining good character and scriptural standards in teaching, Elder Eugene Harris received ordination of Eldership in 2000, and installed by current General Board member, Bishop P.A. Brooks.

Elder Harris served as assistant Pastor of Grace Temple COGIC, twelve years with Pastorate of Superintendent, Elder Chester B. Trail.

Receptive once again to the voice of God in December 2012, Pastor Harris established the "Rock of Praise Church of God in Christ with his wife and First Lady Colia Harris. They have five children; George, Ava, Elizabeth, Eugene Jr, and David.
